Frequently Asked Questions

& Helpful Tips

Q. How long do I have to wait for the paint to dry before I finish and install my painted shelf?

A. When utilizing the Painter’s Pyramid®, you do not need to wait for the paint to dry before completing your project. It is recommended you paint the top surface of an object, turn it over on the pyramids and then paint all remaining surfaces. This cuts drying time (and clean up!) in half. It is advised that you wait the manufacturer’s recommended drying time before installing your shelf.

Q. How durable is the Painter’s Pyramid?

A. Under normal conditions, the Painter’s Pyramid is extremely durable. It is built to work with all types of paints and stains and can hold up to 200 pounds. With proper care, it may be used over multiple projects.

Q. How do I attach the Painter’s Pyramid to my sawhorse?

A. The easiest way to attach the Painter’s Pyramid to a sawhorse is to pass a Velcro strap through the hole of the Painter’s Pyramid and attach it to the sawhorse.

Q. Will my super-strength wood stripper damage the Painter’s Pyramid?

A. No. The Painter’s Pyramid is made out of a plastic that will withstand most common solvents and chemicals used in home improvement projects.

Q. Can I use the Painter’s Pyramid® with glue?

  A. It depends. The Painter’s Pyramid works well with wood glue and many other common adhesives. The Painter’s Pyramid does NOT work well with glues that are specifically designed to adhere to plastic.

Q. Can I use the Painter’s Pyramid® with my decorative arts, craft or hobby projects?

A. Yes! Craftsmen, artists and hobbyists have found that the Painter’s Pyramid works well holding up canvases, artwork and various pieces of pottery. The versatility of the Painter’s Pyramid shines through as many enjoy using the hole in the Painter’s Pyramid as a paint brush holder.

Q. How many Painter’s Pyramids® do I need to use for a project?

A. It is recommended that at least four are used in order to properly balance the project. Larger projects will require more Painter’s Pyramids in order to keep the project stable.

Q. Will my stain and varnish stick to the Painter’s Pyramid?

A. The specially formulated, high-density plastic creates a nonstick surface, that works well with all kinds of paint, stain and varnish, so you can place the wet side of your painted projects on the pyramids. This allows you to continue working on your project without having to wait for the stain to dry or worrying about contaminants sticking to the underside of your project

Q. Do I need to use new Painter’s Pyramids with each new project?

A. No. Painter’s Pyramids can be cleaned and reused multiple times. They are also stackable for easy storage
